Wood Destroying Insects

Every year wood-destroying insects (WDI) cause over a billion dollars annually in the United States. One of the biggest threats to your home comes as a tiny pest that attacks it from the foundation sill to the roof rafters. The most common (WDI) in this area is the Eastern Subterranean Termite, Carpenter Ant, Carpenter Bee, and Powderpost Beetle. They are most active in warm and moist climates and take three to eight years before you see any damage.

OISC

The Office of the Indiana State Chemist (OISC) administers Indiana's pest and pesticide control laws. Certification and licensing are required for Wood Destroying pest inspectors and Applicators. There are two types of licensing categories, Category 12 (Inspecting only) and 7b (Inspecting and application-treatment). Bowman Home Inspections LLC is certified and licensed in category 12 and will give you a nonbias inspection. "BEWARE" of the 7b pest companies that benefit by recommending treatment on the most homes they inspect!
